Orphan Girl Records is proud to announce the release of Howl, the first full-length album by Vancouver songwriter Bre McDaniel, and the first release of the label. The album premiered earlier this week on Canadian Beats and is now available to stream/purchase in all the usual places: Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp and other retailers.

About Howl:
Howl is a mix of studio tracking and outdoor field recordings in coastal BC, and explores the notion of how we need the tonic of wildness. The word ‘howl’ evokes the idea of a completely uninhibited natural sound that is both grounding and disturbing; a call to right what is wrong within and without, and a voice that draws one’s pack together. Musically the album is mainly lighter and upbeat – a roster of folk-pop, indie rock, and organic lo-fi textures with thoughtful weaving of intros, outros and interludes. It features collaborations with producer Elisa Pangsaeng (Hannah Georgas, Said the Whale), as well as musicians Kathryn Calder (The New Pornographers), Coco Culbertson (The Gay, Sunday Morning), Jen Foster (Low Spin, Rong), Jenny Banai and Trish Klein (The Be Good Tanyas).

Bre McDaniel’s Album Release Show will be held at The Railway Stage & Beer Cafe in Vancouver, BC on November 7th, 2018, with upcoming concerts in Victoria and Kelowna. For tickets to the Album Release Show, click here  or purchase at the door.
